The Interview With Emme!

1. When and why did you decide you wanted to be a singer?

I’m not sure there was a set moment. I just know that from an early age, especially in church, I’ve known the healing power of music. The way so many are uplifted and inspired by a powerful melody and lyrics. I’ve always loved music, singing and writing music. It gives me tremendous joy to share it with others.

2. When was the first time you performed live in front of an audience?

I was 9 years old at the Elsinore Theatre as Alice in ‘Alice in Wonderland’ it was an amazing experience! Singing, dancing and acting in theatre was the start of my performance career and love of live music!

3. What is your favorite song to perform and why?

‘I Know You By Heart’ on the keyboard and singing is my favourite song. It was the first song I ever wrote on the piano and I love sharing this with audiences.

4. How does being an indie artist help your artistic freedom to choose what music you sing?

I don’t have a set genre, a bit like me, my music is eclectic! I love the freedom to express myself in music and appreciate the flexibility of being an independent artist.
